Long & Foster Real Estate, the nation’s No. 1 real estate firm*, has appointed a new management team to its leading Bethesda Gateway office in Bethesda, Maryland. Theresa Nielson, a real estate professional for 25 years, has been named managing broker of $1 billion+ producing Bethesda Gateway office. Nielson is joined by Jeremiah Ganeto and Maureen “Mo” Casey Cappadona, who will serve as the office’s sales managers.

“All three of us are excited and honored to continue the same great traditions and stellar service to clients that have made the Bethesda Gateway office so successful,” said Nielson. “We look forward to working with the talented and professional agents in Bethesda Gateway office to build it and the company brand to the next level.”

Nielson joined Long & Foster as a real estate agent in 2003 and quickly became a top producer, receiving many awards for her sales and customer service. Long & Foster’s leadership team recognized her passion for the business and agent development, and she earned a promotion to sales manager. Most recently, Nielson led Long & Foster’s Georgetown office, helping agents to build their businesses both in traditional and luxury real estate.

As a top recruiter for Long & Foster in the D.C. region, Nielson has attracted both new and transfer agents to the premier brokerage firm. She has made key contributions to her office and Long & Foster’s D.C. region through community partnerships and philanthropy efforts.

Prior to her career at Long & Foster, Nielson worked in commercial and residential real estate development—much of it in the luxury market. The knowledge she gained through those experiences has greatly helped her and Long & Foster’s agents in the D.C. area, where redevelopment and new construction have been on the rise.

“It takes a highly knowledgeable and skilled leader to support real estate agents in today’s competitive environment, and we are confident that with Theresa at the helm of our Bethesda Gateway office, we’ll continue to achieve success for our agents and their clients,” said Lonnie Plaster, senior vice president and regional manager of Long & Foster’s D.C. and Montgomery County regions. “Adding exceptional leaders to our team is how this company has helped local buyers and sellers meet their homeownership goals for more than 50 years, and how we’ll continue to do so for the years to come.”

Ganeto, one of the office’s new sales managers, previously led Long & Foster’s Silver Spring Downtown office, which he managed for four years. A Washington, D.C., native, Ganeto attended DeMatha Catholic High School and the University of Maryland, where he earned a dual business degree in marketing and supply chain logistics from the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Ganeto has been with Long & Foster since 2003, serving in a variety of roles—from marketing assistant and real estate agent to recruitment coordinator and branch manager as a licensed broker in Maryland and D.C

Ganeto has earned numerous awards from the company for his outstanding service and production. He has served the local community through volunteer efforts, such as mentoring youth, coordinating his office’s community service events, including the annual Toys for Tots campaign, as well participating in the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors (GCAAR) Rebuilding Together events. He is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Maryland Association of Realtors and GCAAR. He has also earned the designation of Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI). As sales manager for the Bethesda Gateway office, Ganeto will focus on operations and business development.

Cappadona, a fourth-generation Washingtonian, has been a longtime top producer in the Bethesda Gateway office. She has nearly 40 years of real estate experience, as well as a background in luxury automotive sales—having sold high-end vehicles with Euro Motorcars prior to becoming a Realtor. Cappadona has led social programs for the Bethesda Gateway office for several years and has spearheaded new agent training. A board member of several charitable organizations, Cappadona is actively involved in the Washington metropolitan area’s business, social and community networks.

Networking, marketing and negotiating are tools that Cappadona uses to support, guide and advise her clients, and which she will share with the team at Bethesda Gateway in her new role. She has a true passion for helping her clients buy and sell properties and wants to enable other associates to deliver the same services to area consumers. Cappadona ranks in the top 100 agents at Long & Foster and is a member of the company’s Founder’s Club. As sales manager in Bethesda Gateway, she will focus on culture, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment around Long & Foster’s commitment to trust, family and excellence.
