New loan incentive offers several benefits for veterans

As part of The Long & Foster Companies, Prosperity Home Mortgage, LLC (Prosperity) is dedicated to giving back to the men and women who have served in the United States military. Long & Foster’s Founder and CEO P. Wesley (Wes) Foster, Jr., is a veteran of the U.S. Army and a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, and he credits much of his success to the strong work ethic and values he learned through the nation’s military. That’s why Prosperity is pleased to announce the debut of a new incentive for veterans and active duty members of the Armed Forces who are buying or refinancing a home with a Veterans Affairs (VA) home loan through Prosperity.

“With many veterans returning home and in need of housing, we recognized an opportunity to give back to our military servicemen and women. Not only can we offer veterans all the benefits of a VA home loan, but also we can provide them with additional incentives to help lower the cost of purchasing a home or even refinancing their existing home,” said Tim Wilson, CEO of Prosperity. “It’s just one of the many ways that our Prosperity family gives back to those who’ve given so much to our country.”

The incentive program debuts just in time for Veterans Day, a holiday during which the country recognizes all its military for their service, and it will run until the end of the year. During that time, any veterans or active duty military who finance their home through a Veterans Affairs (VA) loan with Prosperity will receive a number of discounts and complimentary services. These include the following

  • No loan origination fee ($995 value)
  • A complimentary one-year home warranty or appraisal (up to $450 value)
  • A 10-percent discount off a home inspection fee with US Inspect (purchase only)
  • $200 off the settlement/closing fee from RGS Title, Sage Title Group, Settlement Pros, Mid-States Title of Southwest VA or Bon Air/Long & Foster Title
