Honors salute Greater Washington business elite’s response to the pandemic

Jeffrey S. Detwiler, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies has been recognized by the Washington Business Journal (WBJ) in their Power 100 class of 2021.

The Power 100 honors Greater Washington business leaders, who like Detwiler, have shown great strength and pressed on to sustain or grow their organizations during the pandemic. According to the WBJ, the Power 100 includes “powerful, formidable leaders who didn’t let Covid defeat them or their missions.”

Real estate is one of the primary driving forces of the U.S. economy. This is one reason why, when the pandemic began, real estate was among the key industries considered “essential” in most states. Under Detwiler’s strong leadership, Long & Foster continued to safely serve the needs of consumers, helping fuel the economic engine, saving and retaining jobs for the good of our clients, and the communities served by Long & Foster.

“It’s an honor to be named to the Washington Business Journal’s Power 100 list,” said Detwiler. “Long & Foster was built for the moment when the pandemic arrived – not only were we capable of withstanding and overcoming a very serious situation, our family of essential service businesses were equally strong and focused on providing the very best care and service possible.”
