Experienced real estate executive returns to HomeServices of America, succeeding Patrick Bain after 16 years of leadership and service to Long & Foster
The Long & Foster Companies today announced that Daniel Dennis is joining the full-service real estate brokerage and its affiliated businesses as president and CEO. Dennis is an accomplished industry leader with over two decades of extensive brokerage, luxury and national industry experience, the ideal combination to lead the company’s next chapter.
Dennis succeeds Patrick Bain, who is leaving following a 16-year career with Long & Foster, including the last three and a half as CEO and president. Bain and Dennis will work closely together over the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition.
Dennis returns to the HomeServices of America family after most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Sales and Service at REMAX. In that executive leadership role, he worked with brokerage leaders and businesses across the country and oversaw the firm’s brokerage support, growth and expansion divisions.
Earlier in his career, Dennis spent more than a decade leading Roberts Brothers, a HomeServices brokerage in Alabama, ultimately being appointed as its CEO. He later served as president of Illustrated Properties in South Florida, where he led one of the region’s prominent luxury real estate organizations.
“Daniel brings an exceptional combination of brokerage leadership, experience building teams and businesses, luxury expertise and a broad national perspective on where our industry is headed,” said Chris Kelly, president and CEO of HomeServices of America. “Just as importantly, he has tremendous respect for Long & Foster and the strength of its brand. He returns to our organization with an even broader perspective and a clear understanding of the opportunities ahead. We are excited to welcome him back and have him leading Long & Foster into its next chapter.”
Dennis will oversee Long & Foster’s residential real estate brokerage, working closely with the company’s experienced regional and local leadership teams, as well as its affiliated businesses in mortgage, title, insurance, inspection, property management and more. His initial focus will include spending significant time across Long & Foster’s markets with agents, employees and leaders, while building upon the company’s market positions, culture and more than 55-year legacy.
“Long & Foster is an iconic company with an extraordinary history, but what excites me most is the opportunity in front of us,” Dennis said. “The strength of this brand, the talent of its agents and employees, and the capabilities we can bring together with HomeServices create an incredible foundation for the future. I have tremendous respect for what has been built here, and I am excited to listen, learn and work alongside our leaders and agents to make an already great company even stronger.”
Bain led Long & Foster through one of the most consequential periods in the history of residential real estate, navigating significant changes in the housing market and industry while strengthening the company’s foundation, modernizing its business and positioning Long & Foster for its next chapter.
“Leading Long & Foster has been one of the greatest privileges of my professional life,” Bain said. “I believe deeply in this company, its people and its future, and I have complete confidence in Daniel as he takes on this responsibility. He brings the experience, perspective and respect for Long & Foster that I believe will serve this company exceptionally well. I look forward to working closely with him through the transition and supporting his success.”
Dennis takes the helm as Long & Foster continues to invest in technology, integrated real estate services and new capabilities designed to support its agents and consumers. As part of HomeServices, Long & Foster combines the strength of one of the nation’s most established regional real estate brands with the resources and scale of one of the country’s largest residential real estate organizations.
