The Long & Foster Companies, parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate, was ranked as the third largest brokerage in the nation based on total closed sales volume and the fourth largest brokerage based on total closed transaction sides in 2016. The ranking was published in the latest REAL Trends 500, an annual list of top real estate brokerages distributed by REAL Trends, Inc., a leading source of statistical analysis for the residential real estate industry.
Long & Foster’s third place ranking is based on its total 2016 closed sales volume of $28.9 billion and its fourth place ranking is based on its more than 81,000 closed transaction sides—the number of closed sales in which a Long & Foster sales associate represented the seller, the buyer or both parties.
“Long & Foster is committed to providing every customer with world-class service—something our family of agents has been doing for nearly 50 years,” said Jeffrey S. Detwiler, president and chief operating officer for The Long & Foster Companies. “We are honored to have once again ranked as No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic and among the top in the nation, and we credit this achievement to our dedicated agents who uphold our values of trust, family and excellence every day.”
“At Long & Foster, we believe that by supporting our agents and ensuring they have the best tools and training available, we enable them to do what they do best: guide their clients on their journey home,” Detwiler said. “Our agents know that when it comes to real estate it’s not just about the transaction of buying or selling a home. It’s about being a trusted advisor who understands the market, knows the neighborhoods and can help customers navigate the process and find a home they love. This philosophy, combined with our values, is what helps us remain an industry leader.”
The REAL Trends 500, which is now in its 30th year, identifies the 500 largest real estate brokerages in the United States, and ranks them by closed transactions and closed sales volume. All information for the rankings is independently verified.
