Acquistion expands Tailored Move’s service offerings, geographic markets
Tailored Move, a Long & Foster company, has acquired Joe Moholland Moving Companies (JMM), a Virginia-based full-service moving business. JMM operates local, national and international moving services through its continental fleet and agent network. The acquisition increases Tailored Move’s capacity, enabling the moving company to expand its geographic coverage and service offerings. Partnering with JMM also allows Tailored Move to offer even more competitive pricing while maintaining the quality of service for which it is known.
“Joe Moholland Moving Companies built a successful business by providing the highest quality moving services with the highest level of personal service, and that mirrors our approach and business philosophy at Tailored Move,” said Brian Schuckalo, president of Tailored Move and Chief New Business Ventures Officer at The Long & Foster Companies. “We’re excited to partner with such a like-minded group and expand our operations and opportunities for both our clients and team members alike.”
JMM has served the Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C., area, for over 25 years. It offers moving, packing, unpacking and storage services, and it maintains a storage facility and warehouse locations in Hampton Roads and Woodbridge, Virginia. In addition to point-to-point moves, consumers who need to store their belongings for both short- and long-term situations can leverage JMM’s storage facilities.
While JMM has grown significantly over the years, its commitment to delivering exceptional service at a personal level has remained true. The business aims to treat every move as it were their own—from packing family heirlooms to carefully setting up a new home, and these values align seamlessly with those at Tailored Move.
“We are thrilled to join forces with Tailored Move and become part of the broader Long & Foster and HomeServices of America families,” said Rob Garr, president of JMM. “The values and cultures of our two companies perfectly align and joining together will enable us to expand our services across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.”
Acquiring JMM is not only a strategic investment into Tailored Move and Long & Foster’s moving operations, but also into Long & Foster’s all-inclusive business model. Additionally, it affirms Long & Foster’s and HomeServices of America’s commitment to delivering all the services a homebuyer, seller or renter need, at any point in their homeownership journey.
“Not only will we now offer local consumers and their real estate agents even better and more comprehensive moving services, but also we’ll provide an even more superior real estate experience, with one company and one team bringing together all the people and services needed to buy, sell or rent a home,” said Jeff Detwiler, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies.
