Hampton Roads area Long & Foster offices volunteered with Equi Kids

Long & Foster^® Real Estate, Inc., the largest independent residential real estate company in the United States, has announced that its offices in the Hampton Roads region recognized the company’s annual Community Service Day by volunteering on June 11 at Equi Kids at Heritage Park in Virginia Beach.

The participating offices included the Great Neck, Chesapeake, Norfolk/Suffolk, Oceanfront and Kempsville sales teams. These offices will be just a few of Long & Foster’s nearly 170 sales offices throughout the firm’s seven-state, Mid-Atlantic, Washington, D.C. and Northeast region to perform service projects within the communities they serve, according to Scott Shaheen, Senior Vice President for the Hampton Roads Region. In addition to the sales agents, employees from Prosperity Mortgage and Sage Title also participated.

“Equi Kids was founded in 1989 and is a therapeutic riding program benefitting the special needs community. They have recently expanded to serve veterans as well. The theme of the Community Service Event was ‘Fun on the Farm’ and we were able to provide some solid manpower to this worthy organization,” said Tammy Hopkins, an associate broker with the Great Neck office who is coordinating this effort.

Long & Foster sales associates and employees from throughout the company, including staff from its headquarters located in Chantilly, Va., participated in a variety of volunteer activities such as working to clean up, refurbish and repair nearby parks, schools, shelters, homes, day care centers and local organizations that provide crucial services to the community.
