Former Champion Realty agents have merged with Long & Foster |Christie’s International Real Estate

In January, Long & Foster | Christie’s International Real Estate and Champion Realty, both established Maryland real estate firms, joined forces. With the merger, more than 200 Champion agents became part of the Long & Foster family. Four of these associates, Paula Reeder, Debra Meikle, Teresa Kruhm and Patsy Whiteley, who were affiliated with Champion’s Chestertown office, are continuing their many years of service to buyers and sellers in Kent County and the surrounding areas—now with Long & Foster’s backing.

Since the merger, these new Long & Foster agents have been integrating Long & Foster’s cutting edge technology systems and marketing resources into their respective real estate practices and have elevated their digital presence and marketing capabilities to a new level with Long & Foster’s award-winning website, LongandFoster.com. In 2018, nearly 5 million people visited LongandFoster.com, spending over 322,000 hours on the website, searching for properties, viewing agent profile pages and reading about communities.

Reeder has been working with clients in Kent, Queen Anne’s and southern Cecil counties since 2004. She holds a Maryland Associate Broker’s license and is a graduate of the Maryland Realtors Leadership Academy and the Graduate Realtor Institute. She has served as chair of the Maryland Realtors Legislative Committee, and currently serves on its Public Policy Committee. Reeder is past president of the Bay Area Association of Realtors and was the 2017 Bay Area Association Realtor of the Year. She also holds a Historic Properties Certification from the National Historic Trust and has received multiple awards for her contributions to the Maryland real estate industry.

Whiteley, a lifelong resident of Kent County, has been an active Realtor since 1982. In 1989, she founded Whiteley & Associates Realty, which became a leading real estate brokerage firm in Kent County and was purchased by Champion Realty in 2000. She is an Associate Broker and graduate of the Graduate Realtor Institute. Whiteley managed the company’s Chestertown office until the merger. Whiteley was recognized as a top agent with Champion and has won numerous awards from the Bay Area Association of Realtors and Maryland Realtors.

Meikle has been a Realtor for more than 30 years and is a lifelong resident of Kent County.  She is a graduate of the Graduate Realtor Institute and was recognized by Champion Realty with a Lifetime Career Achievement Award. A top producer with Champion, Meikle works with clients in Kent, Queen Anne and Cecil counties. She’s known as an agent who not only meets, but exceeds the expectations of her buyers and sellers.

Kruhm began her real estate career in 2002. After a brief hiatus, she reopened her real estate practice in 2018, serving clients in Kent and Queen Anne’s counties.  Kruhm resides with her husband on her family’s farm in Queen Anne’s County outside of Chestertown. She has two grown children and one grandson.
