Realtor recognized with the 2020 ‘Good Neighbor Award’
Chip Taylor, associate broker and sales manager of Long & Foster Real Estate’s Fredericksburg, Virginia office has been recognized by Virginia Realtors for his community service efforts. Taylor received the 2020 Good Neighbor Award for his many years of fundraising and volunteer contributions to the Fredericksburg community.
“I am beyond honored to be recognized as one of the Virginia Realtors inaugural Good Neighbor Award recipients for 2020,” said Taylor. “Giving back to the community is everything to me – it’s good for the heart and for the soul. If you put other people’s interests ahead of your own, it all comes around.”
Inspired by the book, “The Go-Giver”, Taylor believes in the power of giving in his personal and professional life. His spirit of giving back is evident in the work he does by organizing cereal drives for King George County food pantries, adding beauty to streets, parks and the local train station by weeding, planting and mulching, providing gift baskets to teachers and parents, and many other generous acts of kindness.
“This prestigious award is a demonstration of Chip’s incredible work ethic and commitment to help his community,” said Larry “Boomer” Foster, president of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Not only is Chip a dedicated real estate sales professional, he makes time to give back to the community where he lives and works, which is a key value of Long & Foster’s.”
Each winner will receive a $500 award to give to a local non-profit charity. “Our check will be given to the kind and caring rock stars at the Fredricksburg Area Association of Realtors Foundation,” said Taylor. “These volunteers work their hearts out serving housing related needs throughout the Fredericksburg area including Mary’s Shelter, Hope House, Central Virginia Housing Coalition, the Brisben Center, Habitat for Humanity and many more. Donating this money to them is the best part of the honor, by far.”
