Real estate agents and brokerage give back to the local community for 22nd annual event
The Bethesda All Points office of Long & Foster Real Estate in Bethesda, Maryland, participated in Long & Foster Real Estate’s 22nd annual Community Service Day.
Managing Broker Susan Sanford and her Bethesda All Points team rolled up their sleeves for a day of giving back by volunteering on June 18 at A Wider Circle, located in Silver Spring. It was the second year the Bethesda All Points office volunteered at A Wider Circle to sort, clean, pre-test, and re-stock showroom donation items for the organization’s Basic Needs Program. This Wider Circle program provides beds, furniture, housewares, professional clothing, and other basic essentials, free of cost to families in need, who are transitioning out of shelters, or escaping domestic violence in our area. Each year, A Wider Circle furnishes the homes of more than 4,000 families, helping to create the stability and dignity that everyone deserves.
“Every year I ask my agents for suggestions for our Community Service Day project and A Wider Circle received an overwhelming response as our agent pick,” said managing broker Susan Sanford. “On June 18, over 25 of our Bethesda All Points team members arrived at A Wider Circle ready and eager to work. We cleaned items, built beds, sorted donations, and set up showroom displays for clients that could rival a retail department store. It is a very special place and we enjoyed working together as a team in supporting A Wider Circle’s mission to serve the families in the Washington Metro area.”
“Community Service Day is a vitally important component of Long & Foster’s corporate culture of giving,” said Jeff Detwiler, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, the parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Our team gains a tremendous sense of satisfaction by contributing their time and efforts to the communities in which we live and work.”
