This year’s ‘views’ focus on the connection between food and visual art
To coincide with the much-anticipated reopening of restaurants this summer, the 2021 Transformer’s Collector’s View series focuses on the intersection of art, food, and design. For the next month, anyone can subscribe to the video series sponsored by Long & Foster | Christie’s International Real Estate.
The Collector’s View 2021 ‘Artful Appetites’ series is the 14th annual exhibition by Transformer, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit visual arts organization that promotes emerging arts leaders. Again, this year, the exhibition is an all-online format, beginning on June 10 for free viewing enjoyment throughout the month of June.
This year, Transformer will present a special series of twelve video “views” spotlighting an exceptional line up of chefs and restaurateurs from some of the finest eateries in town who embrace visual art in their kitchens, restaurants, and everyday lives.
An outdoor launch party will be on June 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the parking lot dining space of the popular and hip pizzeria, Comet Ping Pong, located at 5037 Connecticut Avenue, N.W., in Washington, D.C. The event is limited to 100 people with advance ticket purchase required. Each $50 ticket provides party guests with light fare, two complimentary drink tickets, and advance viewing access to the Collector’s View 2021: Artful Appetites video series. Register here for the launch party.
