Alice Buchanan Scott and Erik Scott Shipp of The Scott Team, which is affiliated with Long & Foster Real Estate, have announced a formal partnership to support FeedMore. FeedMore is Central Virginia’s core hunger-relief organization, dedicated to providing neighbors who struggle with hunger healthy meals and hope for a better tomorrow. Hunger is a serious issue in Central Virginia – one in seven individuals struggle with hunger.
The Scott Team is dedicated to the community in which they live and work. In order to make a difference and to help address the issue of hunger in Central Virginia, they will be donating 400 meals for every transaction closed by their team. To kick-off this partnership, they presented a check to FeedMore on September 11 for $2,800 representing the 28 transactions they have closed to date in 2017, which will provide 11,200 meals for those in need of assistance by FeedMore. In 2016, FeedMore was able to distribute more than 22 million meals to RVA neighbors struggling to put food on the table, and The Scott Team intends to help grow this number of donated meals in 2017.
The Scott Team is proud to partner with such an amazing community organization and will continue to not only provide on-going financial support per closed transaction, but will also continue biannual collection drives in November and May to support FeedMore with additional food donations during times of need. In November 2016, they began this effort by donating 48 pounds of food collected through the generous donations of their clients during a Thanksgiving client appreciation event, and in May 2017, they were able to donate 98 pounds of food through the collective efforts of agents in the Long & Foster Tuckahoe office. One pound of donated food provides one meal according to FeedMore’s statistics.
