Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc., the largest independent residential real estate company in the United States, hosted Reston, Va., founder Robert E. Simon at its Chantilly, Va. headquarters on March 31. Long & Foster’s Reston office Managing Broker Jane Wallace and Long & Foster Director of Commercial Property Management Amy Waldron led Simon on an educational tour of the building, which was inspired by Governor’s Palace in Colonial Williamsburg, Va.

Long & Foster’s Energy Star Certified headquarters is a 262,982-square-foot building, which includes 1.6 million handmade bricks, a 1,150-space parking garage and artwork chosen by Shelly Guggenheim.

During his visit, Simon also met with Long & Foster Founder and Chief Executive Officer P. Wesley (Wes) Foster. Throughout their discussion, the pair found out they had a lot in common, including friendships with many long-time Restonians and Northern Virginia residents. Foster noted that he and his family lived in Reston’s Lake Anne neighborhood for seven years. Additionally, Reston is the home of one of Long & Foster’s first branch offices.
