Event allows real estate agents, brokerage to give back to the local community

The Strawberry Street office of Long & Foster Real Estate got a head start on the company’s Community Service Day scheduled for June 5. The office, located in Richmond joined the brokerage’s over 170 offices in the day of giving back by volunteering at Fox Elementary School’s Annual Strawberry Street Festival that took place on May 11.

“I am incredibly proud of our employees and agents across our region for their enthusiastic participation in Community Service Day,” said Dawn Bradley, senior regional vice president of the Richmond and Charlottesville/Staunton regions. “Our dedication to giving back to the communities that have given us so much truly exemplifies the spirit of our company – together we are making a difference.”

“The Strawberry Street office has a strong tradition of supporting our local community throughout the year. One of our annual service days is to sponsor and participate in the Strawberry Street Festival which supports Fox Elementary School,” said John VanderSyde, manager of the Strawberry Street office. “This year is particularly important as we continue to rebuild from a devastating fire that closed the school almost two years ago. We are proud to serve our neighbors and to be a visible presence in our community.”

Long & Foster sales associates and employees from throughout the company will participate in a variety of volunteer activities during Community Service Day. In past years, these activities included cleaning up, refurbishing and repairing nearby parks, schools, shelters, homes and day care centers, and providing other assistance to local organizations that offer crucial services to the community.
