Real estate brokerage gives back to local communities for annual event

Thousands of real estate agents and employees with Long & Foster Real Estate, including those at the Navy Yard, Brookland, Logan and Woodley Park offices in Washington, DC, rolled up their sleeves and took part in the company’s annual Community Service Day on June 5.

Long & Foster’s Community Service Day took place at its over 170 locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. The annual event provides an opportunity for Long & Foster agents and staff to give back to their communities through a variety of service projects, including food drives, park clean-ups and more.

The Navy Yard, Brookland, Logan Circle and Woodley Park offices chose to volunteer once again this year with DC Central Kitchen. This remarkable organization plays a crucial role by providing scratch-cooked, farm-to-school meals to DC schools and non-profit organizations, supporting DC’s largest shelter, and ensuring that fresh, affordable produce is available in neighborhoods lacking supermarkets. By supporting their efforts, Long & Foster is helping to contribute to a healthier, more equitable community, and is proud to be part of such impactful work.

“Community Service Day is a vitally important component of Long & Foster’s corporate culture of giving,” said Patrick Bain, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, the parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Our team gains a tremendous sense of satisfaction by contributing their time and efforts to the communities in which we live and work.”
