Long & Foster’s Kent Island Office to Host Community Service Day

June 6, 2022

Event allows real estate agents, brokerage to give back to the local community

The Kent Island, Maryland office of Long & Foster Real Estate, will participate in the company’s Community Service Day on June 8. They will join the brokerage’s over 200 offices in the day of giving back by volunteering with the Queen Anne’s County Parks Department, at Matapeake Clubhouse and Beach for a beach clean-up – collecting foreign objects, rubbish, and micro-plastics from our Chesapeake Bay environment.

“The Chesapeake Bay is foundational to life on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Agents from the Kent Island branch of Long & Foster Real Estate will be donating a day of service to clean, refresh, and beautify spaces along Matapeake Beach.,” said Branch Manager, Tom Richardson.

Long & Foster sales associates and employees from throughout the company will participate in a variety of volunteer activities during Community Service Day. In past years, these activities included cleaning up, refurbishing and repairing nearby parks, schools, shelters, homes and day care centers, and providing other assistance to local organizations that offer crucial services to the community.

“Since our founding in 1968, we’ve been dedicated to giving back to the communities in which we live and work, and our annual Community Service Day event is one example of how we do that,” said Jeffrey Detwiler, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Community Service Day allows our team to make a positive impact on our local communities, and our agents and employees thoroughly enjoy this opportunity to contribute their time and effort. Whether it’s through our annual Community Service Day or one of our other charitable projects, we’re truly glad to give back.”
