Long & Foster Real Estate has announced that its Hampton Roads offices recently took part in the United Service Organization (USO) Warrior Week event.
The USO strengthens America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country throughout their service to the nation.
The city of Virginia Beach and the USO have designed this one-of-a-kind event for wounded, ill, and injured service members and their families. USO Warrior Week offers private events varying in skill level and interests all in one location, helping create lasting family memories for all to enjoy. Events include surfing, skydiving, kayaking, cycling, coastal fishing, horsemanship, waterskiing, workouts, and more.
The USO also hosts the USO Military Village and USO Patriot Park throughout Patriotic Festival weekend to showcase our local military and provide entertainment to the community.
Agents from Long & Foster’s Hampton Roads offices joined forces with Prosperity Home Mortgage over three days to thank our local military and educate them on their Veteran’s Administration (VA) mortgage and home buying benefits and the SMARTMOVE program.
“Many of our service members are unaware that they can purchase a home for little to no money down. Those who are aware of the benefits have been led to believe they need to use a specific lender or agent in order to qualify for the benefits,” said Tina Holt, manager of Long & Foster’s Oceanfront office in Virginia Beach, Virginia. “Our goal for the week was to help dispel these myths and increase awareness for Long & Foster and Prosperity Home Mortgage brands across our military community. We look forward to continuing to educate, serve and give back to these valuable members of the Hampton Roads region.”
