Real estate brokerage gives back to local communities for annual event
Thousands of real estate agents and employees with Long & Foster Real Estate, including those at the Grove office in Richmond, Virginia, rolled up their sleeves and took part in the company’s annual Community Service Day on June 8.
Long & Foster’s Community Service Day took place at its over 200 locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. The annual event provides an opportunity for Long & Foster agents and staff to give back to their communities through a variety of service projects, including food drives, park clean-ups and more.
The Grove office chose to volunteer with Atlantic Outreach Group on June 8. Atlantic Outreach Group is a local non-profit organization, founded in 2010, with a mission to serve those overwhelmed by physical, mental, emotional, social, and financial challenges, by providing resources that assist in making positive sustainable changes in their lives. Long & Foster’s Grove Office held a fundraiser and used the proceeds to pack 72 family-sized meals that will provide 288 meals to those whom Atlantic Outreach Group serves weekly. In addition, The Grove office participated in hand-delivering a weekly supply of food and resources to the most homes that Atlantic Outreach Group has ever been able to deliver in one day.
“Community Service Day is a vitally important component of Long & Foster’s corporate culture of giving,” said Jeff Detwiler, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, the parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Our team gains a tremendous sense of satisfaction by contributing their time and efforts to the communities in which we live and work.”
