Debora Weidman-Phillips, vice-president of Long & Foster’s Blue Bell, Pennsylvania office, has been elected as 2019 President of the Real Estate Business Institute (REBI), an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors. Weidman-Phillips was installed to her new post by Gary Scott, president of Long & Foster Real Estate, at a ceremony on Nov. 2 during the Realtors Conference & Expo in Boston, Massachusetts. Weidman-Phillips’s term as president will run from Dec. 1, 2018, through Nov. 30, 2019.

“I’m honored to have been elected as the 2019 President of the Real Estate Business Institute and look forward to taking on this new role with such an outstanding organization,” said Weidman-Phillips. “I’m confident that, working with my peers at REBI, we’ll continue to help those organizations and individuals endeavoring to increase profitability, productivity and performance in the real estate industry.”

REBI, which has over 21,000 members worldwide, sets the industry standard for innovative resources, tools and learning opportunities for real estate professionals. It is the governing body of one of the most prestigious real estate network for brokers, owners, managers, teams and agents in the nation.

Weidman-Phillips served on REBI’s Board of Directors from 2014-2017, then moved into a leadership role. She also served REBI locally as the president of the Pennsylvania CRB Chapter in 2013.

In addition to REBI, Weidman-Phillips has served her local and state Realtor associations in many leadership roles and on an impressive number of committees. She has accumulated many honors over the 30-plus years she’s been in real estate. Most notably, Weidman-Phillips was awarded Realtor of the Year by the Montgomery County Association of Realtors in 2001 and by the Eastern Montgomery County Association of Realtors in 1996. She is also a Realtors Political Action Committee (RPAC) Major Investor and Pennsylvania RPAC Lifetime Member (1998-2002), and she received the Realtors Active in Politics Award in 2000.
