Created in 1950, the honorary fraternity of Omega Tau Rho is awarded by state and local Associations of REALTORS to members and others that serve the REALTOR organization. Once a medallion is awarded, the recipient is a member for life. This award recognizes exemplary dedication and service, and the high esteem in which recipients are held by fellow members of the REALTOR organization.

Mattison is a native Washingtonian and team leader for Long & Foster’s, The Mattison Group. He has held numerous positions in Realtor organizations at the local, state, and national levels. Locally, he has served as Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors (GCAAR) president in 2002, and as chair of organization’s Realtors Political Action Committee, and member of several other GCAAR committees, including Strategic Planning, Electronic Forms, Nominating, and Public Policy.
On the state level, he served as District Vice President of Maryland REALTORS and President of the Washington, D.C. Association of REALTORS.
Nationally, Mattison served on the National Association of Realtors (NAR) Board of Directors as Regional Vice President, and the NAR Professional Standards Committee as chair and committee member for several years. Mattison also was named REALTOR of the Year for GCAAR and the Washington, D.C. Association of REALTORS in 2002.
