Thousands of real estate agents and employees with Long & Foster Real Estate, including those at the Burtonsville and College Park offices participated and took part in the company’s Toys for Tots community service event. The Burtonsville and College Park offices ended their drive on Dec. 13 and collected more than 100 toys to donate to the organization.
“The Toys for Tots initiative is always a fun, important cause and we’re excited to have been able to take part again and provided a convenient drop-off location for the community,” said Gary Hardy, manager of both the College Park and Burtonsville office. “It’s great to know that by collecting toys throughout the holiday season, our efforts help ensure children who are less fortunate in our area have a more cheerful holiday.”
This year marked the company’s 26th year participating in the holiday collection campaign. Long & Foster has more than 200 offices throughout seven states and the District of Columbia that worked to collect toys for the organization. Once collected, Toys for Tots distributes the donated toys for children in need by distributing them through churches and social welfare agencies.
“Giving back to the many communities in which we live and work is important to our Long & Foster family, which is why we participate in the Toys for Tots drive year after year,” said Jeffrey S. Detwiler, president and chief operating officer of The Long & Foster Companies. “The U.S. Marines have built a tremendous program with Toys for Tots, and our employees, agents and their clients appreciate and enjoy the opportunity to share the holiday spirit with children who might not receive anything otherwise.”
