Amber Thompson of Long & Foster Real Estate earned the Military Relocation Professional (MRP) certification from the National Association of Realtors. The certification strengthens her knowledge of the real estate needs and decisions that military personnel and their families may face when relocating.
“Military relocations often involve more than finding a home. Families may be working around Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders, tight timelines, and decisions about whether to rent or buy based on how long they expect to be stationed in an area,” said David Gillis, managing broker for Long & Foster’s Woodbridge office. “Amber is committed to helping clients understand their options, including VA financing, so they can make informed decisions during a major transition.”
The MRP certification provides real estate professionals with education on the unique considerations involved in military moves, including relocation timelines, housing decisions, and VA loan benefits and eligibility. This specialized knowledge can help agents better support service members and their families as they buy, sell or rent a home during a move.
