Company donates to agent-selected charity as part of regional contest
Since its founding, Lacaze Meredith Real Estate, a Long & Foster Company, has been committed to giving back to the communities in which its agents and employees live and work. That’s why, as part of Lacaze Meredith’s and Long & Foster’s Coastal regional sales competition in March, the brokerages decided to award their winning agents with both a cash prize and a donation of the matching amount to the charity of that agent’s choice. The Coastal region includes all the Lacaze Meredith locations on the Eastern Shore, as well as the Long & Foster offices on the New Jersey shore, the Delaware beaches and Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
In the St. Michaels, Md., office of Lacaze Meredith, Cornelia Heckenbach was selected as a winner, and the company will donate $250 on her behalf to the St. Michaels Food Pantry.
“Giving back to the community is part of our culture here at Lacaze Meredith, and our St. Michaels family greatly enjoys being able to support so many local and national organizations in their efforts to improve the lives of so many of our fellow Americans,” said Martha Witte Suss, manager of Lacaze Meredith’s St. Michaels office. “At a time when many organizations have a great need for extra support, we are honored to have an opportunity to assist them in getting the job done.”
Terry Spahr, senior vice president and regional manager for the companies’ Coastal Region, agreed. “At Lacaze Meredith and Long & Foster, we coordinate numerous charitable events throughout the year, but this is the first year that our sales competition has rewarded not only our sales associates for their hard work, but also contributed to their favorite charity. We’re thrilled to help the community in this new way, and we’re committed to making the competition an annual event.”
