Jo Cross, a real estate professional for 35 years, has been named manager of Long & Foster Real Estate’s Chesapeake Office, located at 644 Grassfield Parkway in Chesapeake, Va. Cross,who brings significant career achievements to her new position, is well-respected in the local Realtor community.
Cross has been in the real estate industry since 1979. She began her real estate career in Richmond, Va., and then obtained her broker’s license in 1982. She went on to earn professional designations, including Accredited Buyer Representative Manager (ABRM), Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI) and e-Pro. In 1993, she was recognized by the Virginia Association of Realtors (VAR) as the Sales Associate of the Year. In 1994, she was recognized as the Sales Associate of the Year for the Richmond Association of Realtors, in addition to being a Distinguished Achiever for 18 consecutive years.
Upon moving to Hampton Roads in 2001, Cross started her career as a managing broker. She is active in the Hampton Roads Realtors Association, serving as current chairman of the Professional Standards Committee and as a past member of its Board of Directors. Her contributions to the industry have also been recognized as she received the 2013 Manager of the Year award from the Hampton Roads Realtors Association, as well as the Manager of the Year award for VAR in 2013. She is the immediate past chairman of VAR’s Manager Council, and she has served on the Board of Directors as well as the chairman of numerous committees for VAR.
