Jeremy Caleb Johnson, sales manager with Long & Foster Real Estate’s Shore Drive Coastal office, has been appointed by City Council to serve on its Board of Directors for the Virginia Beach Community Development Corporation. The Community Development Corporation is responsible for assisting the City of Virginia Beach to provide quality affordable housing opportunities to low and moderate income people. Johnson will serve on the committee for two years.

“I’m a former school teacher and grew up the child of a single mother,” said Johnson.  “I know what it’s like to barely be able to afford housing, and I’m humbled to be selected by City Council to serve the citizens of Virginia Beach as an advocate for affordable housing.”

A Virginia Beach native, Johnson is a widely-respected Realtor and was named the Realtor of the Year in his market in 2016. He is also a 2018 Five Star Professional, was named by Virginia Living Magazine as a Top Real Estate Agent for the Commonwealth of Virginia and is often quoted in the local and national media.

“The City of Virginia Beach prides itself on housing opportunities for all residents, and we take particular interest in affordable housing,” said Jim Wood, vice mayor of the City of Virginia Beach. “With his real estate background, Jeremy is a critical asset to the Board of the Virginia Beach Community Development Corporation, and the city and I am grateful that he has volunteered his time and energy to this organization.”

Johnson consistently ranks top among his fellow agents within Long & Foster, Virginia’s No. 1 real estate firm. What’s more, his results-oriented approach has landed him in the Circle of Excellence, and he currently ranks in the top 2 percent of all agents in Coastal Virginia in the Hampton Roads area. Johnson’s exemplary level of service stems from Buffini & Company coaching for over 14 years and by previous careers and educational paths in London and Oxford in the United Kingdom, Washington, D.C. and elsewhere.

Johnson has been an active member of Hampton Roads Realtors Association for 15 years and a former member of the Board of Directors and two-time chair of the Resale Council.
