For the fifth consecutive year, Fonville Morisey Realty, a Long & Foster company, participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on June 13 at Meredith College in Raleigh.
Fighting breast cancer has been a mission near and dear to Fonville Morisey for many years. Sales associates and employees throughout the company have been impacted directly or indirectly by the disease. Raising money for the June 13 Triangle Race for the Cure in downtown Raleigh was their way to make an impact.
The Fonville Morisey offices held a friendly competition to see who could raise the most money. They held events at area restaurants, raffles, bake sales, casino nights and a silent auction. They also promoted the cause through their websites, including fmrealty.com and Facebook, to encourage donations and invite clients and friends to join the Fonville Morisey team.
On race day, team members wore specially designed blue t-shirts with pink footprints, standing out from a wash of pink.
Fonville Morisey General Manager Mary Kay Pendergraph explained that so many people have been impacted by breast cancer, making the cause close to the organization’s heart.
“Unfortunately, breast cancer has touched many of us or our loved ones in some way,” Pendergraph said. “We are delighted that we were able to increase our impact this year. We are so proud of all of our offices and employees for their hard work and dedication to the cause, and grateful for the generosity of all.”
In all, Fonville Morisey raised over $22,000 in registrations and donations and recruited nearly 100 team members. For more information about Fonville Morisey, please visit fmrealty.com. Donations can be made through July 13 at komennctc.org.
