Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors presents Distinguished Service Award to Mattison

Leading Realtor Dale Mattison has been awarded the 2025 Distinguished Service Award by the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors (GCAAR). Mattison, a longtime associate with Long & Foster Real Estate, is part of the brokerage’s One Bethesda office in Bethesda, Md. This prestigious honor recognizes Mattison’s over 50 years of leadership, expertise and commitment to raising professional standards in the real estate industry.

Throughout his career, Mattison has played a vital role in shaping the profession, both locally and nationally. He has served as president of the District of Columbia Association of Realtors (DCAR) and GCAAR, as well as regional vice president for the National Association of Realtors (NAR). In addition, he has dedicated countless hours to association committees, including serving as an RPAC Trustee for DCAR and Maryland Realtors.

“Dale’s contributions to real estate go far beyond his business success—he has set the standard for professionalism, service and leadership,” said Patrick Bain, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “We are incredibly proud to see him honored with this award and grateful for the positive impact he continues to make on our company, our community and the real estate industry as a whole.”

The Distinguished Service Award is one of GCAAR’s highest honors, and Mattison’s selection reflects his decades of outstanding contributions and his commitment to both his clients and his colleagues.
