Charlottesville Region Sees Inventory Declines in Most Areas in October

Market Minute Logo 2017 smallHome prices rose across most of the Charlottesville region while inventory continued to decline, according to the latest Long & Foster Real Estate Market Minute report. Both Buckingham and Nelson counties saw double-digit increases in median sale prices, with the former enjoying a 46 percent rise. Buckingham County also had the greatest decline in inventory—at 36 percent last month.

“Inventory challenges have defined much of the real estate market in 2018, both in the greater Charlottesville region and the country as a whole,” said Larry “Boomer” Foster, president of Long & Foster Real Estate. “With the low supply of homes for sale, especially in the first-time and move-up buyer price range, prices are rising in many markets.”
