The Hampton Roads Region of Long & Foster Real Estate in Virginia hosted their third Annual Regional Cornhole Tournament and second Annual Regional Chili Cookoff.
The Regional Cornhole Tournament and Chili Cookoff took place at the Oceanfront/Coastal office in Virginia Beach. The events of the day began with all agents, brokers, and staff tasting the six chilis prepared by those competing. After everyone had a chance to taste each chili, they were directed to choose their favorite chili by placing the corresponding number (one to six) in the ballot box for anonymous voting. Once all votes were submitted, the party moved to the parking lot for the Cornhole tournament, while staff tallied up the first, second and third place winners.
The Cornhole Tournament consisted of three teams from three different offices. The Oceanfront/Coastal office, Kempsville office and Chesapeake office all competed for the championship. When the tournament ended, it was victory for Carolyn Kraemer and Steve Pokelwaldt of Prosperity Home Mortgage representing the Kempsville office. A trophy was awarded, and the Kempsville office will proudly display it, while each team winner received their own cornhole medals.
Once the cornhole tournament concluded, everyone returned inside for the announcement of the chili cook-off winners. All the entries were delicious, and many attendees went back for seconds. Patrick Jones from Chesapeake, who won first place in 2023, graciously relinquished his title to Katie Zarpas from the Oceanfront/Coastal office, but still secured a spot in third place. Susan Devich from the Kempsville office claimed second place.
“Again, we were lucky enough to have amazing weather,” said Tina Holt senior vice president, regional manager for the Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina region. “We just love coming together for these events and always look forward to spending time together in the years to come.”
