Event allows real estate agents, brokerage to give back to the local community
The Reston and Fairfax Centre offices of Long & Foster Real Estate will participate in the company’s Community Service Day on June 20. The Reston and Fairfax Centre offices will join the brokerage’s over 200 offices in giving back by participating in the Back to School Drive to help Cornerstones.
“Each year Long & Foster has been a sponsor of the Cornerstones in our community,” said Athena Petersen, managing broker for the Reston and Fairfax Centre offices. This year, we will continue our support by helping provide backpacks for the Cornerstones Back to School 2023-2024 drive during our Community Service Day. Cornerstones is a nonprofit organization that promotes self-sufficiency by providing support and advocacy for those in need of food, shelter, affordable housing, quality childcare, and other human services.”
Long & Foster sales associates and employees from throughout the company will participate in a variety of volunteer activities during Community Service Day. In past years, these activities included cleaning up, refurbishing and repairing nearby parks, schools, shelters, homes and daycare centers, and providing other assistance to local organizations that offer crucial services to the community.
“Since our founding in 1968, we’ve been dedicated to giving back to the communities in which we live and work, and our annual Community Service Day event is one example of how we do that,” said Patrick Bain, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Community Service Day allows our team to make a positive impact on our local communities, and our agents and employees thoroughly enjoy this opportunity to contribute their time and effort. Whether it’s through our annual Community Service Day or one of our other charitable projects, we’re truly glad to give back.”
