Real estate and financial services companies raised funds during 7th annual charity golf tournament
The Long & Foster Companies raised more than $8,000 for the American Heart Association and Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic during a charity golf tournament on June 5. More than 100 golfers participated in this year’s annual tournament, which was held at 1757 Golf Club in Dulles, Virginia. This was the largest amount ever raised during the seven years of the tournament and the proceeds were split between the two charities.
Sponsors of the event included Prosperity Home Mortgage, LLC, RGS Title, Long & Foster Insurance, Long & Foster Real Estate and Long & Foster Home Service Connections—all part of The Long & Foster Companies. Additionally, Fair Oaks Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Chantilly, Olympia Moving & Storage, US Inspect, Belfor Property Restoration, and HMS Home Warranty each contributed to the event as sponsors.
Dave Rotell, vice president and area manager at Prosperity, helped plan the event on behalf of The Long & Foster Companies again this year. Rotell had approached the leadership teams at Long & Foster several years ago, asking if they would be interested in supporting a charity golf tournament that would bring together their companies while also benefitting the community. The response was a resounding “yes,” and Rotell said it has been an amazing event ever since then, especially since the organizations get to give back to such good causes.
“The Long & Foster Companies charity golf event was another tremendous success in the name of two outstanding charities—Make-A-Wish Mid Atlantic and the American Heart Association,” said Rotell. “Every year we come together as a work family and have a lot of fun while most importantly helping two wonderful charities. With the American Heart Association, our charity donations help with their important research toward the treatment and prevention of heart disease, and Make-A-Wish Mid Atlantic truly makes dreams come true for the children that need them most.”
“At Long & Foster, we’re dedicated to giving back to the neighborhoods in which we live and work,” said Jeffrey S. Detwiler, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies. “No matter if we’re participating in a charity golf tournament like this event or volunteering during our annual Community Service Day initiative, we’re always thrilled to support the local community.”
