Long & Foster | Christie’s Joins Forces with Evers & Co.

Expands company’s market-leading position in the greater D.C. area

Long & Foster Real Estate, the nation’s No. 1 independent brand*, today announced that it has acquired Evers & Co., a residential real estate brokerage in the greater Washington, D.C., region. Founded by Donna Evers in 1985, Evers & Co. specializes in traditional and luxury real estate services in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. Effective immediately, the firm’s nearly 100 real estate professionals, including Evers, will become part of Long & Foster.

“Like Long & Foster, Evers & Co. has a long history of success in the D.C. area real estate market, and we’re pleased to welcome their team to our family,” said Larry “Boomer” Foster, president of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Together, we’ll build upon and expand the already high quality of support and services that we offer buyers and sellers, as well as investors, in the Washington metropolitan area.”

Going forward, Evers, who has nearly 40 years of real estate experience, will join Long & Foster’s leadership team. She will continue to manage the three Evers & Co. offices in Chevy Chase and Bethesda, Maryland, and in Washington, D.C., and she will report to Lonnie Plaster, who heads Long & Foster’s D.C. and Montgomery County regions. Evers shared her excitement for becoming part of Long & Foster—a firm she has come to respect over the past 30+ years in the D.C. real estate market.

“Long & Foster is known not only for providing the highest quality of service and support to home buyers and sellers, but also for helping real estate agents achieve success in the business, so joining Long & Foster presents an extraordinary opportunity for both the Evers & Co. team and our clients,” said Evers. “We’re excited to take full advantage of all the marketing, training and technology provided by Long & Foster, including its exclusive relationship with Christie’s International Real Estate.”

Long & Foster’s partnership with Evers & Co. aligns with the company’s overall growth strategy and expands its market leading position in the greater D.C. area. Long & Foster is the No. 1 brokerage in both traditional and luxury home sales across the Washington metro, and the addition of Evers & Co. strengthens the firm’s hold on the top position.

“We’re pleased to welcome Evers & Co. to Long & Foster and to build upon our dominant position in the greater D.C. metro region,” said Jeff Detwiler, CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Long & Foster strives to serve as the No. 1 choice for buyers and sellers in Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, and the addition of the Evers & Co. team further enhances the high quality of service we offer to clients in the Capital region. Together, we will ensure that our combined real estate forces continue to uphold the strong traditions that have allowed our company to grow and succeed.”

Evers & Co. will operate under its current brand name until early fall, at which point it will transition to the Long & Foster brand. For more information, visit www.LongandFoster.com.
