The Strawberry Street office of Long & Foster Real Estate, based in Richmond, Virginia, is proud to be heading up the collection efforts in the Fan district for this year’s annual Toys for Tots Campaign.
For well over a decade, the Strawberry Street office has been the designated drop-off site for all those who wish to contribute to this worthwhile program that is coordinated by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. This program makes it possible for many children to receive new toys for the holidays that they would otherwise not receive. Those who wish to donate can visit the office at 409 Strawberry Street and look for the Toys for Tots sign and the mountain of toys in the window. Donations of new, unwrapped toys with tags still attached are being collected through Dec. 16.
In addition this year, the agents at the Strawberry Street office decided to kick their Toys for Tots drive up a notch. All those who bring a donation to the office before Dec. 9 will receive a ticket for a special holiday movie event on Dec.9 at the Byrd Theater. Attendees will be able to visit with Santa while listening to seasonal favorites being played on the Byrd’s famous Wurlitzer organ. Popcorn and refreshments will be provided and after settling in, the fan-favorite movie, The Polar Express, will be shown.
Those unable to visit the Strawberry Street office beforehand can bring a donation to the event. Doors open at 1 p.m., and the movie begins at 1:30 p.m. For more information, call the Strawberry Street office at 804-340-0840. The Toys for Tots holiday movie event is sure to be an afternoon of fun for both children and adults and the Strawberry Street office hopes to see many members of the community there.
