Richmond’s Top Real Estate Team Turns Powerhouse Through Merger

Long & Foster’s The Yeatman Group and Heirloom Realty Join Forces

Long & Foster Real Estate has announced that The Yeatman Group (TYG) acquired the Heirloom Realty Group on January 3. Heirloom Realty, led by David Cooke, was one of Long & Foster’s top five teams with over $72 M in sales volume in 2021.

With the acquisition, TYG will expand to two offices in the Richmond area – with the current TYG office located in Midlothian, and the newly acquired Heirloom office in the West End.  The merger adds 14 new agents and three new homebuilders (TimberCreek Building & Design, Santa Barbara Construction, and WB Garrett Construction) to the existing TYG roster which already included 52 agents and nine homebuilders.

David Cooke will be TYG’s Director of Expansion. Cooke will develop new growth strategies to expand TYG’s footprint into new territories and markets, while also helping recruit and train top talent. The team plans to immediately expand into the Deltaville and Farmville markets within the first quarter of the year.

Kyle Yeatman, TYG’s owner and founder, came across this opportunity through conversations with Cooke about the future expansion plans of both teams. “We both have similar philosophies on ‘customer-first’ based selling techniques and business strategies, which sparked further investigation of a potential merger between our two teams,” said Yeatman. “We felt that combining teams would expedite our growth and future success.”

TYG has earned awards as Richmond’s Best Real Estate Team on multiple occasions and was recently ranked as the No. 2 Real Estate team in the nation in 2021, as published in a special advertising section of The Wall Street Journal. Last year, TYG sold over 800 homes and $328 M of real estate in the Richmond market alone, continuing to surpass expectations for their clients, while setting new trends in the Greater Richmond real estate industry.

While still heavily recruiting in its targeted expansion markets for new sales agents and staff members, TYG onboarded 14 new team members in 2021, prior to the merger.  Adding these new agents, combined with the acquisition of Heirloom Realty, TYG’s team size has almost doubled in the last year, bringing total team members to 65.

“We plan to expand our recipe of strong marketing, client-focused representation, and proven systems from the Greater Richmond region into several outlying markets that could truly benefit from our unique experience and services,” said Cooke. The team will continue the expansion under the Long & Foster Real Estate brand, as both teams have done for the last eight years.
