June 25, 2019

Paul Muessig, a commercial real estate professional for more than 40 years, has been named vice president of Long & Foster Real Estate’s Commercial Property Management division. Muessig brings significant career achievements to his new position, and he will report to Ronald Glass, managing broker of the company’s Commercial Division.

Muessig, who will lead the Long & Foster’s commercial property management team, has had an extensive career in the real estate industry. A licensed architect in Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania, he has worked as an architect, construction manager, commercial lender and real estate broker, and he has built and managed national and regional profit centers within various corporate structures. Muessig’s experience also includes financial modeling, capital structuring and asset management.

“This platform, within a company with such strong brand awareness, is a highly unique opportunity and allows me to bring together my many years of experience in all facets of commercial real estate,” said Muessig.  “Our goal is to dominate the 80% of the market that makes up the small to mid-size asset class by offering them the full array of talent and services available at Long & Foster.”

Prior to joining Long & Foster, Muessig was the co-founder of several companies, including ACG Equities, a commercial real estate investment, asset management and operating company focused on the acquisition and management of distressed properties throughout North America.

In addition, Muessig has held senior positions with ITT Real Estate Services in Chicago, where he financed Resolution Trust Corporation acquisitions for such buyers as Goldman Sachs and First Boston. In 1993, Muessig formed Arthur Capital Group, one of the first national real estate equity firms providing investment advisory and asset management services to institutional investors.

“Long & Foster’s Commercial Division not only facilitates the leasing and sale of commercial properties, but also now offers commercial property management services,” said Glass. “We look forward to providing this new level of service to our commercial clients and we are confident that Paul’s high level of expertise will serve him well in helping Long & Foster’s Commercial Division continue to grow throughout the region.”

Muessig holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Cincinnati and a master’s degree in finance and investments from The George Washington University.
