Long & Foster Real Estate, the largest family-owned residential real estate company in the United States, welcomes Montie Sellers to its Tri-Cities Southpark office, in Colonial Heights, Va. Sellers will specialize in working with homebuyers and sellers.
“We are very excited and fortunate to have Montie join our team of highly trained professionals,” said Nancy Steinke, manager of the Tri-Cities Southpark office. “The combination of Long & Foster and Montie’s unique skills and knowledge will no doubt provide the highest level of service to local buyers and sellers.”
Sellers successfully completed Long & Foster’s Star Builders program, an extensive training course for newly licensed sales associates, as well as associates returning to the field of real estate. The program’s curriculum covers contracts, agency, prospecting, business planning, finance and working with buyers and sellers. Sellers holds membership in the Southside Virginia Association of Realtors.
“My decision to launch a career in real estate was sparked by the abrupt end of my previous career as a Virginia State Trooper. As a Trooper, I always wanted to help others. Then on July 8, 2013, I suffered a career-ending accident while on duty,” Sellers said. “As a real estate agent, I am able to continue helping others and support my community. My attention was drawn to Long & Foster after interviewing with multiple brokerages and seeing the wide range of resources that Long & Foster has to offer over the others. Long & Foster is truly one-of-a-kind.”
“The dynamics of today’s residential real estate market are constantly changing. Completing our Star Builders program has provided Montie with the right tools to meet those changing dynamics,” said Gary Scott, president of Long & Foster Real Estate. “We welcome Montie to Long & Foster, a company that has helped local buyers and sellers reach their homeownership goals for more than 45 years.”
Sellers holds a diploma from the Virginia State Police Academy in Midlothian, Va. He resides in Colonial Heights along with his three children.
