Mary Katherine King Earns Certified Residential Specialist Designation

March 6, 2020

In 2019 Mary Katherine King, a sales associate with Long & Foster Real Estate’s Old Ivy Office, earned the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation from the Residential Real Estate Council (RRC).

The CRS designation recognizes that King is an expert in working within the residential market using a variety of proven tools to deliver the highest quality and most professional service possible to today’s homebuyers and sellers.  The council is recognized as the leading provider of real estate education and networking for residential real estate agents, and the CRS designation is considered the most prestigious designation a real estate agent can achieve.

Council members represent the top three percent of all Realtors in the country. CRS agents have more experience and training than the average Realtor and they are part of a community of Realtors dedicated to improving the real estate industry for homebuyers and sellers everywhere.

“It is an honor to hold the CRS designation and to represent the best-in-class throughout the country,” said King.  “I am excited to use the knowledge I gained to better assist my clients with buying and selling residential real estate.  In 2020, I will participate on Virginia’s RRC Leadership Team as the Communications Leader. I look forward to being able to serve my fellow Certified Residential Specialists in this capacity.”

“I am thrilled for Mary Katherine and for her clients who will benefit from her dedication and tireless work,” said Rachel Foster, managing broker of Long & Foster’s Old Ivy office. “I could not be more proud of what Mary Katherine has accomplished.”

A 2002 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Science, King is a member of the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors (CAAR), the Virginia Realtors Association and the National Association of Realtors. She also holds the ePro certification from the National Association of Realtors and is a member of the CAAR Board of Directors.  She has been inducted into the CAAR Professional Honor Society for five consecutive years and is a graduate of the CAAR Pat Jensen Leadership Academy.

Around the community, she volunteers as a member of the 5th and Avon Community Advisory Committee for Albemarle County and on a fundraising event committee for the Shelter for Help in Emergency. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their 3-year old daughter.
