Long & Foster Real Estate has announced that its York/Peninsula office, located in Yorktown, Virginia, recently took part in the a back-to-school supply drive.
Long & Foster’s York/Peninsula Office has offered support to the York County Head Start Program for the last several years. This back-to-school season, the office collected school supplies for the incoming preschoolers. Also, funds were raised to purchase backpacks for each student to fill with their supplies.
The office participates in a community service event each year, but goes a step beyond by supporting the Head Start program throughout the year. In the past, the Long & Foster York/Peninsula office participants have helped with the program’s year-end graduation celebrations. They have also collected coats and clothing for the York County Head Start students and their siblings.
“The Head Start program was thrilled to see the backpacks arrive within hours of their orientation program,” said Long & Foster’s York/Peninsula office manager, Kelly Corbett. “We do make a difference for these young children who are in need of additional services. I’m proud of all in my office for being so giving.”
