Event allows real estate agents, brokerage to give back to the local community
The Village of Midlothian and Stony Point offices of Long & Foster Real Estate, in Midlothian, Virginia will participate in the company’s Community Service Day on June 27. The Village of Midlothian and Stony Point agents will join the brokerage’s over 200 offices in the day of giving back by volunteering at Journey Christian Church, located at 3700 Price Club Blvd, Midlothian, Virginia to package breakfast and lunch bags for children during the summer months. The Village of Midlothian and Stony Point offices will also be collecting food during the month of June to be given to the Chesterfield Food Bank.
“During the winter months so many children receive free or reduced lunches in their schools but the summer brings extra expenses to many families with daycare so just a bag of breakfast and lunch snacks and meals could make a big difference,” said Joan Dorsey, branch manager of the Village of Midlothian and Stony Point offices.
Long & Foster sales associates and employees from throughout the company will participate in a variety of volunteer activities during Community Service Day. In past years, these activities included cleaning up, refurbishing and repairing nearby parks, schools, shelters, homes and day care centers, and providing other assistance to local organizations that offer crucial services to the community.
“Since our founding in 1968, we’ve been dedicated to giving back to the communities in which we live and work, and our annual Community Service Day event is one example of how we do that,” said Patrick Bain, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Community Service Day allows our team to make a positive impact on our local communities, and our agents and employees thoroughly enjoy this opportunity to contribute their time and effort. Whether it’s through our annual Community Service Day or one of our other charitable projects, we’re truly glad to give back.”
