Brunch and discussion to focus on Sheryl Sandberg’s award-winning book, “Lean In”
Area residents are invited to join the Tysons office Long & Foster Real Estate, the nation’s No. 1 independent residential real estate brand by sales volume, in celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8. The office will host a complimentary brunch and discussion about Sheryl Sandberg’s award-winning book, “Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead,” from 10 a.m. to noon that day. The office is located at 8227 Old Courthouse Road, Suite 100, in Tysons.
“’Lean In’ had a big impact on my career trajectory,” said Monica Florio, manager of Long & Foster’s Tysons office. “Reading the book showed me how I was holding myself back and gave me the confidence to say yes to a bigger role at work.”
“Lean In” discusses why women’s progress in achieving leadership roles has stalled and offers solutions that can empower women to achieve their full potential. The agenda includes viewing some “Lean In” videos, followed by an open conversation about women, leadership and the #mentorhermovement.
“We want to create a space to talk about the challenges and opportunities that women have in speaking their mind, having a seat at the table and balancing work and family,” Florio explained. “We’ve wanted to do something to mark International Women’s Day and this year, with our Lean In event, we’re thrilled to open the discussion to the public to have a larger conversation.”
All are welcome to attend and join the conversation, even if they have not read the book. “Lean In” is available in most libraries and bookstores.
Space is limited, so RSVP for the event today by clicking here. For more information about Long & Foster, visit LongandFoster.com.
