Real estate brokerage gives back to local communities for 21st annual event
Thousands of real estate agents and employees with Long & Foster Real Estate, including those at the Shore Drive Coastal Sales office in Virginia Beach, Virginia, rolled up their sleeves and took part in the company’s 21st annual Community Service Day on June 6. Long & Foster’s Community Service Day took place at its over 220 locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. The annual event provides an opportunity for Long & Foster agents and staff to give back to their communities through a variety of service projects, including food drives, park clean-ups and more.
The Shore Drive Coastal Sales office chose to volunteer with Operation Smile on June 6th. Operation Smile is a nonprofit service organization headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia, that provides cleft lip and palate repair surgeries to children world-wide.
After an introduction and tour of their headquarters facility, agents contributed to the organization by filling smile bags to be shipped to various parts of the world. These bags included a coloring book, mirror, wash cloth, shampoo, plush toy, wooden toy car/train, tooth brush, and crayons. The agents filled ten boxes with 400 smile bags. In addition, the agents also rolled and packed about 88 blankets to be shipped. The Virginia Beach office team enjoyed the event and plan to make it their annual Community Service Day tradition.
“Community Service Day is a vitally important component of Long & Foster’s corporate culture of giving,” said Jeff Detwiler, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, the parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Our team gains a tremendous sense of satisfaction by contributing their time and efforts to the communities in which we live and work.”
