Long & Foster Real Estate is proud to announce that R.T. Christopher, managing broker of the Greenville sales office, has been elected to the New Castle County Board of Realtors (NCCBOR) Hall of Fame.
“I am honored and humbled to have been elected to the Hall of Fame,” Christopher said. “I love the work I do helping people find their homes, and helping agents build their careers. Working with Long & Foster makes that easy, with their state-of-the-art systems and programs, and their strong, supportive leadership at the corporate level.”
The award is given to current or former REALTOR members of the NCCBOR, who have served as an officer or member of the NCCBOR Board of Directors or performed meritorious service to the NCCBOR over an extended period of time.
“I could not be more proud of R.T. receiving this well-deserved award,” said Gary Scott, president of Long & Foster Real Estate. “His passion and dedication to doing the right thing, the right way in every situation makes R.T. a special leader. I’m pleased to offer our congratulations to our colleague and my very close friend.”
After graduating from Salesianum School and Mount St. Mary’s University, Christopher began his real estate journey in 1992 and has spent his entire career with only two companies. He is a licensed broker in Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland and is an active member of the NCCBOR, the Kent County Board of Realtors and the Sussex County Board of Realtors.
From 1992 to 2012, Christopher was a successful sales agent, Lifetime Member of the NCCBOR Million Dollar Club and consistent recipient of the Realty Alliance Sales Award during his affiliation with a competing brokerage firm. In addition to maintaining a successful sales business, from 2005-2012, he was the Assistant Sales Manager of the Greenville sales office assisting the Managing Broker in all aspects of office operations as well as recruiting and hiring new sales associates.
In 2012, Christopher became the managing broker of the Long & Foster Greenville sales office – organically growing that office from just two sales agents to eventually expanding and overseeing the Greenville, Hockessin and Trolley Square sales offices. Now with more than 180 full time sales associates, those offices gross more than $650 million in annual sales volume and exceed 2,000 sales units annually.
Christopher has consistently devoted his time and expertise to the NCCBOR and the Delaware Association of Realtors, serving on the Board of Directors for the Delaware Association of Realtors, on the Executive Committee, Nominating Committee, Forms Committee and the Strategic Planning Committee. In addition, Christopher served as vice president of the Delaware Association of Realtors from 2016-2017.
For the NCCBOR, Christopher has served on the Executive Committee for three board presidents, has been a member of the Board of Directors, the Nominating Committee, served on several task force committees including the Broker Involvement Task Force and was vice president of the board from 2016 to 2017. In 2017, Christopher received the Mel Stout Ethics Award from the organization.
On a personal level, Christopher has been a long-time advocate of the St. Patrick’s Senior Center, Habitat for Humanity, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and The Children’s Beach House in Lewes, Delaware. He is a devoted husband and proud father of three teenagers.
