The Center City Philadelphia office of Long & Foster Real Estate, the largest privately-owned residential real estate company in the United States, will take part in the company’s 19th annual Community Service Day on June 8, 2016. The Center City office will join the brokerage’s over 220 offices in the day of giving back by volunteering at the Share Food Program warehouse helping to pack and distribute food to Philadelphia’s food cupboards.
“Having quality meals together as a family is part of what helps make a house a home. By volunteering our time to the Share Food Program we hope to do a small part to help area families create memories around the dinner table by having nutritious food to enjoy together,” Concepcion said.
Long & Foster sales associates and employees from throughout the company, including staff from its headquarters located in Chantilly, Virginia, will participate in a variety of volunteer activities during Community Service Day. In past years, these activities included cleaning up, refurbishing and repairing nearby parks, schools, shelters, homes and day care centers, and providing other assistance to local organizations that offer crucial services to the community.
“At Long & Foster, we’re dedicated to supporting the communities in which we live and work and the Community Service Day event is one example of how we do that,” said Jeffrey S. Detwiler, president and chief operating officer of The Long & Foster Companies, parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “It’s such a wonderful opportunity for our Long & Foster family to make an impact in our local communities, and everyone thoroughly enjoys contributing their time and effort. Whether it’s through our annual Community Service Day or one of our other charitable projects, we’re truly glad to give back.”
