Jennie Burge, a sales associate with Long & Foster Real Estate’s Oceanfront-Coastal office, has been elected by the Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital Auxiliary Board to serve as its President. The Auxiliary Board plays a vital role in supporting the hospital through volunteer service, fundraising, and community engagement initiatives that enhance patient care and overall quality of life. Burge will serve on the committee for 2 years.
“I am honored to step into this role and continue the Auxiliary’s legacy of service,” said Burge. “Lake Taylor is a cornerstone in our community, and it also holds a special place in my heart as members of my own family have been patients there. I’m excited to work alongside such a dedicated group of volunteers to make a meaningful difference for patients and their families.” Burge said.
A Realtor since 2007, Burge has been affiliated with Long & Foster’s Oceanfront-Coastal office since 2007.
In her role as President, Burge will oversee Auxiliary programs, guide volunteer initiatives, and help strengthen community partnerships that benefit Lake Taylor’s patients and staff.
Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital has been serving the Hampton Roads community for more than a century. Originally established in 1890 as the Norfolk Alms House, the facility evolved over the decades into a municipal hospital, and in 2002 became the independent, not-for-profit Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital. Today, it is a 296-bed facility specializing in extended medical and rehabilitative care, including respiratory, orthopedic, neurological, cardiac, pediatric, and palliative services.
Burge brings nearly two decades of professional experience as a REALTOR® in Hampton Roads, where she is known for her leadership, communication, and commitment to community service. Her election as president reflects both her professional dedication and her personal connection to the hospital’s mission.
