Event allows real estate agents, brokerage to give back to the local community

The Harbour Pointe office of Long & Foster Real Estate participated in the company’s Community Service Day on June 16. The Harbour Pointe office in Midlothian, Virginia, joined the brokerage’s other offices in the day of giving back by volunteering at Chesterfield County Food Bank.

“The Harbour Pointe sales office chose to volunteer with the Chesterfield County Food Bank this year. The manager and agents volunteered to assist with food distribution, serving almost 400 families with fresh food.  Agents who were unable to participate in the food distribution made monetary donations for the organization to put to good use,” said Nancy Steinke, managing broker of the Harbour Pointe office.

Long & Foster sales associates and employees from throughout the company will participate in a variety of volunteer activities during Community Service Day. In past years, these activities included cleaning up, refurbishing and repairing nearby parks, schools, shelters, homes and daycare centers, and providing other assistance to local organizations that offer crucial services to the community.

“Since our founding in 1968, we’ve been dedicated to giving back to the communities in which we live and work, and our annual Community Service Day event is one example of how we do that,” said Patrick Bain, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Community Service Day allows our team to make a positive impact on our local communities, and our agents and employees thoroughly enjoy this opportunity to contribute their time and effort. Whether it’s through our annual Community Service Day or one of our other charitable projects, we’re truly glad to give back.”
