Real estate brokerage gives back to local communities for 21st annual event
Thousands of real estate agents and employees with Long & Foster Real Estate, including those at the Greenville Sales office in Greenville, Delaware, rolled up their sleeves and took part in the company’s 21st annual Community Service Day. Long & Foster’s Community Service Day took place at its over 220 locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. The annual event provides an opportunity for Long & Foster agents and staff to give back to their communities through a variety of service projects, including food drives, park clean-ups and more.
The Greenville office chose to volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware on June 13, 2018. The Long and Foster volunteer team spent the day painting, turning teal green sponge paint, stencils, and stripes into lovely updated shades of grey and white.
The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware provides a safe, affordable “home-away-from-home” to families of seriously or chronically ill or injured children who are being treated at area hospitals. The organization operates three Ronald McDonald Family Rooms within pediatric units of hospitals across Delaware.
The Ronald McDonald House is a place where families can stay together and receive the kind of special care they need at such difficult times. Families find a bit of comfort and peace and a hot evening meal after a long day at the Hospital. The Ronald McDonald House has 56,000 square feet of living space with 50 guest rooms, each with a private bathroom.
“The Ronald McDonald House does a tremendous amount for so many in this community. We have several agents in our office who have volunteered their time there and felt it was a great opportunity to give back to such a terrific organization,” said R.T. Christopher, managing broker of the Greenville Sales office.
“Community Service Day is a vitally important component of Long & Foster’s corporate culture of giving,” said Jeff Detwiler, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, the parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Our team gains a tremendous sense of satisfaction by contributing their time and efforts to the communities in which we live and work.”
