Daniel Welsch, a sales associate with Long & Foster Real Estate’s Westham office, was appointed by the Massey Alliance Young Professional Board to serve on its board. The Massey Alliance works to raise awareness of and support the research, resources, and programs at VCU Massey Cancer Center. Welsch will serve on the board for four years.

“Cancer has affected many of us during our lives in one way or another. This past year I lost my grandmother to a prolonged battle with liver cancer. A few years before that my fiancé was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and was successfully treated. Most recently my best friend was diagnosed with colon cancer. I joined Team Massey because of the amazing work they do, to help remind everyone how important it is to get screened, and how every dollar raised helps develop better treatments and one day a cure. I have always had a skill for raising money and it is about time I brush off my talents and put them to beneficial use. I look forward to starting my first year on The Massey Alliance Board and I know my family at Long and Foster will be there to support us,” Welsch said.

“Growing up in the Richmond area and attending both The Steward School and VCU has given Welsch a deep understanding of our community and its values.
