Executive joins Long & Foster as business development manager in Pa., N.J., Del.
Long & Foster Real Estate, the nation’s No. 1 family-owned residential real estate brokerage, has hired James Barnett, Sr., as a business development manager for its Corporate Real Estate Services division. Barnett, who has worked in sales and business development for many years, will oversee new growth and expansion opportunities in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
“I’ve led sales efforts for Fortune 500 companies and smaller, regional organizations. I look forward to the opportunity to work with Long & Foster and its Corporate Real Estate Services team,” said Barnett. “Long & Foster offers the exact mix of services needed for relocating transferees, consumers and corporate clients plus providing complete real-estate services to their local employees. I’m excited to grow our market coverage and better support individuals and companies throughout Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.”
Barnett brings an accomplished and varied career to Long & Foster. He’s advanced from being a high-performing sales executive with Xerox to managing a 400-person $50 million Xerox branch, serving as general manager responsible for sales, service and administration. In addition, he served as president of an office products dealership and launched the Mid-Atlantic business operations of Océ, a global office and printing products organization.
During his career, Barnett has developed a passion for achieving high-sales performance and helping his clients find solutions to their needs. This passion enabled him to achieve great results for his companies and himself. For example, he ranked as the No. 1 sales executive in North America for the majority of his tenure at Kodak, and he earned President’s Club status for his 12 years at Xerox. He looks forward to employing these skills in his new role at Long & Foster, where he will work with Fortune 2000 clients, educational systems and governments to expand their human resources benefits portfolio.
“In today’s continually changing real estate market, it is critical that our business is supported by experienced and talented leaders like James,” said Pandra Richie, president of Long & Foster’s CRES division. “I’m confident that with his tremendous sales and business development expertise, combined with the support and service of our in-house team, our company will continue on the path toward future growth and success. It is these kinds of additions that have allowed our company to grow and support buyers and sellers in all their homeownership needs for over 47 years.”
