Thousands of real estate agents and employees with Long & Foster Real Estate, including those at the Chickahominy office in Sandston, Va., rolled up their sleeves and took part in the company’s 18th annual Community Service Day on June 3, 2015. Long & Foster’s Community Service Day takes place at its over 180 locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, including its headquarters in Chantilly, Va. The annual event provides an opportunity for Long & Foster agents and staff to give back to their communities through a variety of service projects, including food drives, park clean-ups and more.
The Chickahominy office chose to volunteer with New Hope Community Church. The office distributed food bags, provided by Eastwood Builders to a community in New Kent, Patriots Landing, asking for non-perishable goods for the New Hope church food pantry. The office went back five days later to pick up food bags. “We collected more than 60 bags full of non-perishable goods,” Lois Thomas, the broker at the Chickahominy branch said. “We are so pleased with the outpouring of support.”
“Community Service Day is a vitally important component of Long & Foster and our corporate culture of giving,” said P. Wesley Foster Jr., founder, chairman and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies. “Our Long & Foster family gains a tremendous sense of personal satisfaction by contributing their time and effort to the local communities in which we live and work. At a time when many charities and local organizations have a great need for assistance, we are honored to have the opportunity to help them.”
