Event allows real estate agents, brokerage to give back to the local community
The Charleston offices of Long & Foster Real Estate will participate in the company’s Community Service Day on June 30. The Greater Charleston and Charleston/West Ashley offices in Summerville and Charleston, South Carolina will join the brokerage’s 200-plus offices in a day of giving back by volunteering at Habitat for Humanity. Team members from both offices will help the organization build homes at one of their sites along with hosting a donation drive for Patriot Villas, a non-profit organization that helps local veterans in need.
“Long & Foster has a long history of supporting the local community and we are looking forward to bringing that tradition and commitment of service to our greater Charleston Community,” said Lonnie Plaster, senior vice president and regional manager for South Carolina.
Long & Foster sales associates and employees from throughout the company will participate in a variety of volunteer activities during Community Service Day. In past years, these activities included cleaning up, refurbishing and repairing nearby parks, schools, shelters, homes and day care centers, and providing other assistance to local organizations that offer crucial services to the community.
“Since our founding in 1968, we’ve been dedicated to giving back to the communities in which we live and work, and our annual Community Service Day event is one example of how we do that,” said Patrick Bain, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Community Service Day allows our team to make a positive impact on our local communities, and our agents and employees thoroughly enjoy this opportunity to contribute their time and effort. Whether it’s through our annual Community Service Day or one of our other charitable projects, we’re truly glad to give back.”
